Every day, an average of 81 people across the country receive lifesaving organ transplants, and countless others receive lifesaving tissue transplants. Many more receive the gift of sight through cornea donation.
In 2015, for the first time ever, 30,000 were performed in the United States, restoring hope to patients and their families; 819 lives were saved across LifeGift’s service area.*
Even so, there is a critical shortage of organs across the country. More than 120,000 individuals are waiting for a lifesaving transplant. Of those, more than 13,300 are Texans.
